I am a public-school German teacher and a professional magician in the Washington, DC suburbs. Before public school I taught German in several universities for 13 years. And before that, I was an actor in NYC and a musician in Nashville. I’m a podcaster, producer of The Word Nerds.
I have a pretty eclectic personal history, which is set forth in a bit more detail at the Word Nerds website (a shameless attempt to get you to check out my podcast).
I am also a writer. At present, this blog is my main forum. Blogging is, alas, causing me to be more sedentary than I should be at this stage in my life. But it is a way to dump my thoughts out and share them with you.
I’ve always been something of a fan of headwear. In 2006, my magic career induced me to become a serious devotee of the fedora. Below are pictures of two fedora fans: Washington, DC Mayor Adrian Fenty and me. I’m the one with the glasses and moustache.
