This is a view of the Nats/Orioles game from my regular season seat. At this point in the game, the Orioles were being put out 1-2-3 in the top of the ninth inning. But the damage had been done. The O’s won, 9-6.

Great Picture! When do you have a weekend game? I know some friends that would love to go along.

Hey there - I have recently been turned on to the splendiferous Word Nerds and am cruising through the archives at the moment. Strangely, while listening to last years cast on the start of the baseball season I came across your site and your post about the Nats/Orioles game. In the cast someone remarks that baseball is practically unheard of in England and Europe but no one knows why - I just thought I’d offer my tuppence worth. In England, we have a game called Rounders, which I believe Baseball evolved from (though don’t quote me on that). It is very similar to Baseball, but the most obvious difference is the bat is much smaller. In England, this is regarded as a fun kids game, not suitable for adults to waste their time on and this is why I think Baseball has such a poor reception over here.
